Create a Case in Hip Orientation - Manual using Ruler
Creating a case for Hip Orientation - Manual using Ruler involves the process of recording hip implant orientation through a manual method with a ruler for precise measurements. This approach does not require advanced calibration, offering an effective and straightforward method for evaluating hip alignment during or after surgery. It is especially useful when more detailed or automated tools are unavailable.

Step-2: Navigate to Total Hip Arthroplasty
From the Dashboard, navigate to Total Hip Arthroplasty and select the Hip Orientation option to proceed with creating a new case.
Step-3: Create New Mortho Hip Orientation
Click on the Create New Mortho Hip Orientation button to access the page where all Geometric entities for case creation are displayed.
Step-4: Upload X-Ray Image
On the Create New Mortho Orientation Hip page, click the Folder icon to upload the necessary X-ray image for calibration and analysis…
Step-5: Start Calibration with Ruler
To start the Calibration, click on the Ruler icon, place two dots on the image where needed, and press Enter to confirm the ruler placement.
Step-6: Input Marker Size
Input the Marker Size. Once the marker size is set, click the Accept button.
Step-7: Conversion Factor Calculation
After confirming the marker size, the Conversion Factor will be automatically calculated and displayed. You can Zoom in on the image by clicking with the Mouse and place a dot at any location on the image for precise calibration.
Step-8: Resize Circle
Press Enter to create a circle around the marker. You can resize the circle using “W” to increase and “E” to decrease its size, ensuring accuracy in placement.
Step-9: Fine-tune Inclination Angle
After resizing, press Enter again to draw a Line inside the circle. Use the Up Arrow Key or Down Arrow Key to fine-tune the Inclination Angle of the line for optimal calibration.
Step-10: Adjust Anteversion Angle
Press Enter again to create an Ellipse within the circle. Adjust the Anteversion Angle of the ellipse by pressing “W” to widen it or “E” to narrow it, ensuring proper orientation.
Step-11: Create Pelvis Line
Place two Dots around the Pelvis area for further analysis, and press Enter to generate a full-length line. This line serves as a reference for measuring alignment.
Step-12: Connect Femur Region
Similarly, place two more Dots around the Femur region, and press Enter to create connecting lines. These lines join the Pelvis line, helping to calculate the Leg Length Difference for comparison and analysis.
Step-13: Save the Case
After all calibrations and adjustments are completed, click on the Save button to store the case. It will then be added to the Grid for future reference and analysis.
The Hip Orientation - Manual using Ruler method allows for accurate and manual measurement of hip implant orientation. By utilizing a ruler for manual adjustments, this process ensures the alignment is accurately recorded, providing clinicians with an efficient and reliable way to assess hip positioning in surgical cases.
